Weeeelll, I think what may not be working here--for me, anyway--it seems a little strange to have her wings be more of a focal point than her face. I mean, my eye still goes automatically to her head but it seems kind of flat. Which can work if that's what you're going for, I guess I'm just not entirely sure what I'm supposed to be looking at. I think if the 2-Dimensionality were a little more uniform or the 3-D aspects; right now they're fighting for attention and it slows down the movement of the composition, which has a decent amount of rhythm to it.

Looking at it again...I'm not sure how you would do it digitally, but, if you do any traditional art, I think this lends itself to painting, honestly. I think there are some things you can do with brush strokes that would work very well with this design but would be fairly difficult to duplicate digitally.

I hope that helps.

OMG, my first real critique. Yeah, it does help. Thanks for taking the time to write it. Traditionally I started with painting, but I didn't stick with it. I used to do specialty crap just like childrens characters on walls for dentists offices and such, and moved on to home show reproductions of game characters on walls in game rooms, but then I left that medium because when I tried to branch off into my own thoughts/ideas it didn't work out to well. I'm not an artist by any means, but I really would like to get into this digital thing and do it right/well, or at least to the liking of others. And I don't learn anything without the critiques. So thanks again for writing it. :)

You're welcome. Have you thought about going back into paint? The fun thing about art is that you can go back and forth between mediums as long as it's not like, oil and watercolor or spray paint and crayons or something. I do most of my stuff by hand and then mess with it on PS; very little of my work is 100% digital. That's not to say that going that route is bad, I just don't have a decent WACOM tablet or, really, the patience to learn how to draw and paint on a computer.

I have thought about it a lot lately. But it seems less messy to sit in front of the computer. I have a wacom tablet I never use. Maybe I should.

couldn't hurt. Unless it causes you to get carpal tunnel somewhere down the line but it probably won't hurt too bad in the short term.

Jacksprat said almost all I would have but here it goes anyway.

The clock is good, I like it that within itself. But it seems the faerie is in front of it and yet behind it at the same time? I like how the numbers move along the bottem of her dress line but the clock seems too 3D to me on the faerie which seems more 2Dish.
